Sentiment around the new 4‑track EP by Marianne Faithfull called Burning Moonlight is captured by Marianne’s son, Nick Dunbar. He says, “As we grieve the loss of Marianne, we are pleased to announce the release of these songs which she worked on during the year before her death. Marianne lived to create and perform music – it was her driving force and she never stopped. Right up until the end she was looking forward to this release which now completes and celebrates her remarkable artistic career.” 

Released initially as a limited-edition vinyl as part of Record Store Day on April 12, Burning Moonlight will be available worldwide as a digital EP on June 6. Originally due to be revealed in February as part of the RSD 2025 List, the announcement was put on hold following Marianne’s death on January 30th. At the request of her family, DECCA Records are releasing the EP.
